I was recently turned down for credit due to supposedly too many credit inquiries. After checking my report I found 7 in the last 3 months. I do not believe they are all mine. How do I have them removed or if I cannot how long will they adversely affect my credit?

I would be more concerned about identity theft than the removal of that information if you aren’t responsible for them. I’d be looking into what companies looked… and why they looked.

1. To have any inaccurate information removed, send a letter by certified mail, return receipt requested to the credit bureau that issued the report stating that you dispute the information because it is inaccurate.
2. Inquiries stay for two years. However, they only affect your credit for one year.
